I dont get how you factor the quadratic equations. I get it when you have x2+5x+6. But i get confused and dont know how to do it when you have x2+5x and nothing at the end.
I did not understand how you to solve the one equation that looked like this 3x-19=6 but now I know that you need to move the six over and make all of it equal a zero. then just solve it! IT MAKES ALOT MORE SENSE!! Thank you - - - molly.h
i didnt really understand how to solve quadratic equations by factoring but the site made it much easier for me because it simplified the steps.. - D.Williams
okay dokey I am starting to understand this a little more.. solving bt square root. whan you just have two numbers you can move the single number over and square each side and BAM you got the qnswer. for some reason i get it more on the computer than when your talking in class. thank you
So I've had alot of problems with quadratic equations but this site has helped me out alot. It breaks the steps down and explains it with examples and explinations. This has helped. Only thing I could ask for is to have a few more examples... -TLowey
i really didnt understand the "completing the square" but i read that webpage ind i printed off some notes from it and i really do understand it now! shelby r.
So i wasn't getting the equations that looked like this: 3x-6x=5 But now that i looked at the examples i know that you just move the 5 over to the other side and put 0 in it's place!!! I'm exicited i get it now the website helped!! (:

I wasn't very sure on how to correctly factor these equations, but now that I looked at this site I understand.

You were right the quadratic formula is much easier because all I have to do is plug in the numbers then do the math.

I am not getting how you turn things from the weird form to standard form.

at first i didn't get the plus minus thing to get 2 solutions but now i do

i didnt understand how to write out the answer for the factoring but i get it now from the examples. tguthrie
The instructions help me out alot. I had trouble just looking at the numbers, but the writing cleared it up for me alittle. tguthrie

im starting to get how to complete the square.. the site showed me how to do it when it only has two numbers insted of three..
-D.Williams
solving quadratic equations: solving by factoring. i know see that you need to make both the factors equal zero then solve.

so now i see that you have to make both of the equations equal to zero then solve. t.beasley
graphing: ok now i see that if it crosses the x axis 2 times there are to sulutions. t.beasley

i didnt get how to "solve by factoring" either, but i studied that site too and i understand that now! thanks Mrs. Bentley!

In "completing the square" do you always times??
Example
(x+3)(x+3)
Do you multiply the 3's??
K. Buff
(x + 2)(x + 3) = 12
x2 + 5x + 6 = 12
x2 + 5x – 6 = 0
(x + 6)(x – 1) = 0
x + 6 = 0 or x – 1 = 0
x = –6 or x = 1
in this equation how do you get x squared??
K.Buff
